Class 55 Deltic No. 55009 'Alycidon' and Class 31 No. 31106 head towards the automatic half barrier level crossing at Willington on 5th April 2013, shortly after taking the North Staffs route towards Stoke-on-Trent en-route from Barrow Hill to Crewe HS. The Deltic locomotive was being positioned for a Crewe to Edinburgh charter the following day. No. 31106 had been attached at Derby to pilot the Class 55 for operational reasons. It returned light engine to Derby later in the day.
