The Fellsman, which operates on Wednesdays between Lancaster and Carlisle during a brief summer season, uses locomotives from the WCRC pool of locomotives based at Carnforth. On 17th July it was LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No. 45699 Galatea, making its first appearance on the service, which accelerated the train through Bamber Bridge accompanied by Class 47 No. 47580 County of Essex, as support, imposed due to high fire risk after a lengthy period of sunshine.
