East Midlands Trains 'hired-in' a three-coach Mark 2 set of coaches and powered by Class 37/4 locomotives to work five services on the North Staffs route between Crewe and Derby on Sunday 25th August 2013. The photograph shows the first working 1K02, 15:05 Crewe to Derby service reducing speed in readiness for the stop at Tutbury and Hatton station with Class 37/4 No. 37405 leading and classmate No. 37425 Sir Robert McAlpine / Concrete Bob at the rear of the three coaches, in the Direct Rail services compass livery. This was the first occasion for many years that a locomotive and coaching stock has been used to operate passenger services over the North Staffs route and therefore made a welcome change from the single unit Class 153 that normally dominate the passenger services.
