A railway experience not to be missed can be found on the Tissington trail in Derbyshire. Within the L&NWR built 350m long tunnel, seen here on the 12th November 2013, just North of Ashbourne soundtracks are played through loudspeakers along the tunnel during daylight hours. Recently, the local council has improved the sound system, and a large range of steam locomotive sounds can be heard including shunting, whistles and express services. Access to the trail is free.
