Class 73's Nos. 73201 and 73138 worked a test train around the Liverpol area and returned to Derby on the Saturday 29th March 2014, and then the locomotives and test train were supposed to be towed South. At the third time of trying the working from Derby RTC to Hilther Green eventually worked as the 10:14 departure from Derby on Monday 31st March 2014, albeit 80 minutes late and without No. 73138. Here the working passes Spondon with the most unusual sight of Network Rail Class 31 No. 31105 hauling Class 73 No. 73201 Broadlands dead-in-train. As this working was positional there was no need of a DVT or DBSO at the rear of the NR coaches.
