A historic occasion because this was the first time the then brand new Britannia Class 7P No. 70006 John Milton was steamed as it is hauled through Crewe Station to Crewe North Shed by the station pilot Ivatt Class 2 No. 41229 in April 1951. When new it was the practice to haul the locos from Crewe Works to Crewe South Shed(5B) for the fire to be lit for the first time.
