Due to the continuing FBU dispute and the present ban on steam in the north east, the Railway Touring Company's 'Waverley' charter was diesel hauled on 20th July 2014. WCR Class 37's Nos. 37516 & 37685 pass Copmanthorpe on the outward run from York to Carlisle. Steam traction was due to take over at Hellifield.
