Pending the delivery of DVT vehicles some of the ECML trains were provided with an HST Power Car fitted with normal drawgear to be propelled by the then new Class 91's. The 10:10 Leeds-King's Cross is so formed as it passes Crow's Nest, Beeston on the outskirts of Leeds on 15th July 1989.
