Brush Class 47/9 Nos 47971 and 47973 on arrival at Crewe with a test working for the Railwayy Technical Centre (RTC) at Derby on 3rd February 1990. The lead locomotive, No. 47971 started life as No. D1616, later becoming No. 47480 and then No. 97480 on transfer to Departmental service, before its present number. Its classmate started life as No. D1614, then became Nos. 47034, 47561 and 97561 before finally being renumbered to No. 47973
