The seaside town of Southport is the most northerly point of the 'Merseyrail' network affording services to central Liverpool and the south easterly location of Hunt's Cross in addition to 'Northern' services to Stalybridge and Alderly Edge. In this view taken on 7th February 2022, 'Merseyrail' Class 507 No. 507005 leaves the 1851 constructed station while powering the 10:41 service to Hunt's Cross.
