When BZK held the contract for shunting duties at Pirdop the Bulgarian Railway Company that was part owned by the Romanian GFR (Grup Feroviar Roman) which in turn was part of the GRAMPET GROUP acquired locomotives from the neighbouring country, both Class 40 Electrics and the ubiquitous Type LDH25 Class 81 diesels. Overcast and somewhat dull on the morning 14th October 2017, Class 81 (Class 55 in Bulgaria) No. 81-0759 is pictured coupled to a lengthy rake of what appears to be an inbound working of copper ore destined for the Aurubis refinery on the northern side of the Pirdop yard.
