In the days of loco-hauled trains from Waterloo, there used to be an evening peak working comprising a Class 33, a 4TC trailer unit and two powered 4VEP units. The train divided at Basingstoke, with the diesel and TC continuing to Salisbury. There was a total of 3550hp powering the 12 car train, the most powerful regular working on the Southern prior to the Eurostar service! The train approaches Clapham Junction. Date Unknown
