The driver cleans the front of 2-6-2 tank engine #No. 996001-4, built in 1939 by Krupp and now owned by the Harz Schmallspurbahn (HSB). The locomotive is the mainstay on the Selketalbahn, regularly providing traction from Quedlinburg to Hasselfelde and Harzgerode via Gernrode.
