This is No. RB004, an experimental railbus built in the 1980s as a precursor to the Class 141 and 142 railbuses. The unit also spent some time as a demonstrator in the USA and around Europe, but returned to the UK and intially restored at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway before being acquired by the Telford Steam Railway and restored to traffic. Although not running on 8th January, the unit was stabled outside at Horsehay, thus enabling the photographer to obtain this shot.
