The way that things may eventually be in the UK. SNCF Bi Mode AGC 82631, working on Electric mode awaits departure from Strasbourg with a service to Colmar on Thursday 8th December 2011. The AGC although looking slightly differnet from a bodywork point of view is the French design of the UK Voyager. Many AGCs have been produced in diesel only, Bi Mode and Electric mode for use in all parts of France. The Bi Mode unit makes use of either of the eletric voltages available, when under electrified routs, changing to Diesel for use where no wires exist. This simple mofification to UK Voyagers could add addition passenger coaches, as well as making better use of train trips under the wires.
