February 1991 saw some very deep snowfall and exceptionally low temperatures across southern England. Here, a Dorking to Victoria train, formed of two 4CIG units, with 1723 leading, prepares to leave Dorking with the temperature at -5C. That night it dropped to -15C in the area.
