On the 15th October 2012 the first two units of London Underground C stock were sent for scrap. The two units involved, No's. 5532 and 5575 worked as Train 717 from Hammersmith Depot to Northwood No. 22 Siding on the Metropolitan Line. The operation of C stock on the Metropolitan Line north of Baker Street is rare and with the units operating in a 4 car formation rather than the usual 6 car formation the working was even rarer. With the 12:10 Amersham to Neasden Depot A stock Rail Adhesion Train running rather late, the opportunity arose to see the odd site of the first C stock units destined for the scrap yard being passed by older stock which has managed to avoid the same trip to the scrap yard.
