Colas Rail Freight Class 56/3 No. 56302 is captured in the mid-afternoon sun heading along the North Staffordshire route between Derby and Crewe on Monday 25th November 2013 as it approached Marston-on-Dove level crossing, Derbyshire while working 6S96, 12:37 Sinfin Sidings to Grangemouth Ineos, which comprised of eight empty bogie TEA tanks that had earlier delivered a consignment of aviation fuel to the Rolls Royce plant in Derby. Colas Class 56 locomotives are now regular performers on this working but it is understood this to have been the first occasion that No. 56302 has been the motive power, having replaced classmate No. 56087 that had brought the loaded tanks from Scotland overnight. The latter being dispatched from Sinfin to Tyseley Depot presumably for tyre turning.
