Preserved Class 20 No. 20188 attended the open day held in Crewe Basford Hall Yard on Sunday 27th August 1995 along with sister loco No. 20042, both being painted in lined LNWR black livery. New in January 1967 as Type 1 No. D8188 and renumbered under TOPS as Class 20 No. 20188 in the early 70's, most of her life was spent around the Nottinghamshire Coalfields being allocated to Toton MPD from at least 1974 until her withdrawl in January 1990. Preserved on the Severn Valley Railway where she still be found No. 20188 starred in the 1995 James Bond Film 'Goldeneye' heavily disguised as an Russian armoured locomotive. Class 20 No. 20042, on the right, has also had an interesting career being withdrawn in June 1991 and then reinstated, renumbered as Class 20/3 No. 20312 and sold to DRS in September 1998 with whom she still operates in May 2014.
