Class 86/6 No. 86604 attended the Crewe Basford Hall Yard open day on Sunday 27th August 1995 in the two tone grey Railfreight livery complete with Railfreight Distribution branding and emblems. Built at Doncaster Works in August 1965 as AL6 No. E3103 she was allocated to Willesden EMD in North London from new until at least 1989 before transferring to Crewe Electric Depot where now approaching 50 years of age she remains in everyday use today with Freightliner hauling container trains between Scotland and the East Anglian ports. During her long life she has been renumbered as a Class 86/0 No. 86004 under the TOPS computer scheme in l973, converted to a Class 86/4 No. 86404 in 1986 and finally to a Class 86/6 No. 86604 in March 1990.
