Another exhibit at the Crewe Basford Hall Yard open day on Sunday 27th August 1995 was the final Class 50 No. 58050 'Toton Traction Depot', complete with Depot plaque, in Mainline blue and silver livery. Built at Doncaster Works in March 1987 No. 58050 was in fact the last diesel locomotive built by British Railways in their own workshops. Always allocated to Toton TMD for use mainly on the heavy coal traffic in the Midlands she was withdrawn from service in August 2002 and put into store. A new life overseas beckoned and No. 58050 was exported to Spain in September 2008 for use on infrastructure duties where she became No. L53. Currently, May 2014 No. 58050 is in store in Spain.
