LNER A4 Class Pacific No. 60009 'Union of South Africa' stands in Hackney Sidings, Newton Abbot, on 16th August 2015 with its support coach, having failed while hauling 'The Royal Duchy' from Bristol Temple Meads to Par. It is passed by the 16:12 service from Plymouth to Paddington, with Class 43 power car No. 43153 on the rear. The 'A4' went to the South Devon Railway at Buckfastleigh that evening, while 'The Royal Duchy' eventually continued to Par hauled by Class 47 diesel No. 47832, arriving two hours late.
