Hauling a single Mk2F DBSO No. 9701 and wearing Civil Engineers 'Dutch' grey and yellow livery Class 47/9 No. 47975 'The Institution of Civil Engineers' is seen waiting to depart from Platform 8 at Crewe Station on 22nd July 1992. New to BR in March 1964 as Brush Type 4 No. D1723 she was allocated to Bristol Bath Road MPD, being reclassified under TOPS as Class 47/4 No. 47540 in October 1974 and in August 1990 as Class 47/9 No. 47975. Allocated to Crewe Diesel Depot TMD she had been named at the Depot on 2nd September 1991 and although reverting back to Class 47/4 No. 47540 in November 1995 would retain the name until withdrawn from service during November 2002. Purchased for preservation she can now be found at the Wensleydale Railway, North Yorkshire.
