Once a everyday scene at Inverness TMD the imminent arrival of 'Super Sprinters' would soon consign views such as this to history. Taken on 27th April 1988 from Inverness goods yard 4 unknown Class 47/4 locos are stabled awaiting their next southbound workings while locally based Class 37/4 No. 37415 is probably destined for a Far North working. No. 37415 had arrived at Inverness in January 1986 from Glasgow Eastfield TMD and would remain until reallocated to Thornaby TMD during May 1990. Withdrawn in May 2012 she was scrapped by CF Booth of Rotherham during November 2013. In the far left of the picture Class 47/4 No. 47430 can be seen departing Inverness Station with a service to Glasgow or Edinburgh.
