Seen passing Glasgow Cowlairs Carriage Sidings on 29th March 1976 is Class 27/0 No. 27031. The large gap between the bogies denotes this loco to be one of the few Class 27's not equipped with train heating equipment so has No. need of a water tank. Delivered to the North Eastern Regions Thornaby MPD as BRC&W No. D5378 in March 1962 for freight duties she transferred to Scotland during 1970 gaining her Class 27/0 TOPS No. 27031 in April 1974 while allocated to Glasgow Eastfield MPD. Following a serious fire No. 27031 was condemned in May 1978 and swiftly cut up by BREL Glasgow that August
