The use of a Class 205 'Thumper' diesel-electric multiple unit on the Dartmoor Railway is not prototypical, but had the Southern Region of British Railways retained management of the lines west of Exeter (known as The Withered Arm) they may have introduced them after the demise of steam. On 14th July 2012 we see unit No. 1132 at the beautifully restored station at Okehampton having just arrived from Meldon Quarry.
