This locomotive started its working life at Cardiff Canton about 50-years ago as D6919 and after a number of changes of ownership during its lifetime is now working at the Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway, so it may have worked in this area when new. This image shows the Class 37, now No. 37219 on 21st July 2012 entering the station at Furnace Sidings (Blaenavon) while working the 15:40 Whistlestop Inn to Big Pit. The coach immediately behind the Class 37 is Great Eastern No. 3 for which a modest premium was being charged to ride in it.
