For about 2-weeks the Swansea avoiding line (known as the District Line) is closed to allow major upgrading, meaning that the few freight workings that use this line are being either cancelled or diverted. One such diversion is the daily 6B13, 05:05 Robeston to Westerleigh Murco tanks seen here on 3rd August 2012 climbing the last few yards (at 1 in 50)to the summit of Cockett Bank hauled by DBS Class 60 No. 60063. The train is being banked by 66230, which was attached in the yard at Llandeilo Junction and will be uncoupled at Margam yard. Once past the summit this train will descend towards Swansea, but use the station avoiding line that runs behind Landore HST Depot before rejoining the mainline near to the site of the lond-closed Landore station.
