Eleven months after Gloucester Panel swept away all semaphore signalling in the area, much of the old infrastructure remains as 'Peak' Type 4 diesel electric No. D157 sweeps down from Barnwood Junction on 8th April 1969 with a York - Bristol Temple Meads working. The new fertilizer Depot in the background is built on the site of the closed Gloucester Barnwood MPD. New from Derby Works in March 1962, the loco was withdrawn from Cardiff Canton as No. 46020 in December 1980 and was cut-up at Swindon Works during December 1984.
