Passing a fine array of semaphore signals, double-chimneyed Stanier Class 5MT 4-6-0 No. 44766 accelerates out of Preston on 19th August 1967 with a lengthy northbound parcels working. It was new from Crewe Works in December 1947 and first allocated to Crewe North (5A). Withdrawn from Crewe South (5B) on 31st August just a short while after this working, it was cut-up by Cashmores of Newport during December of that year.
