Maunsell 'U' Class Mogul No. 31625 dumped at Barry Scrapyard on 21st November 1972. New from Ashford Works for the Southern Railway as No. 1625 in March 1929, it was renumbered 31625 in December 1948. The loco was withdrawn from Guildford MPD in January 1964 and dispatched to Woodham's Scrapyard at Barry, where it spent 15 years and 9 months, arriving in June 1964. Purchased for preservation, the loco left Barry in March 1980 for the Mid-Hants Railway, where it was restored to working order. It currently resides at Ropley awaiting overhaul.
