Class 37/0 No. 37072 in BREL Doncaster Works on Sunday 11th May 1986 for structural repairs to the No. 1 end of the loco after accident damage caused by deliberately being used to stop runaway Class 31/1 No. 31102. This resulted in the loco unusually having split headcode boxes at the undamaged No. 2 end of the loco and a central plated over headcode panel with marker lights at No. 1 end. Delivered new to Thornaby MPD in September 1962 further transfers had taken No. D6772 to Gateshead, Thornaby, where she became No. 37072 in the TOPS renumbering scheme, and Tinsley depots prior to this accident. Returned to Tinsley after repairs a move to Cardiff Canton then Bristol Bath Road took her away from the Eastern Region for a while but she had returned there, via a spell at Toton, to Immingham TMD by September 1997. Stored and then withdrawn the next month, October 1997, 7 years would pass before scrapping was undertaken by EMR Kingsbury during October 2004.
