Class 31/1 No. 31130 is seen inside Doncaster Works on Sunday 11th May 1986 undergoing a major overhaul which includes substantial reskinning of the bodywork. New to BR's Eastern Region in September 1959 as No. D5548 by 1974 she was allocated to Finsbury Park MPD as Class 31/1 No. 31130 following TOPS renumbering. Prior to entering Doncaster for overhaul in 1986 she had migrated to the London Midland Region based at Cricklewood MPD. Further moves subsequently took her north to Crewe TMD by the end of 1988 and across to Toton TMD by 1992. Withdrawn during August 1997 No. 31130 was purchased for preservation and can nowadays be found operating on the Battlefield Line in Leicestershire.
