Out of 1,500 Mk1 BSK coaches built for BR only 3 carried the striking Sealink livery No. SC35069 No. SC35070 and No. SC35072. Monday 24th June 1985 finds No. SC35069 at Glasgow Central waiting to depart with a lunchtime boat train for Stranraer Harbour. These trains were normally formed with 5 SK vehicles plus a BSK and all were carried on the original design of double bolster bogies, so with a Class 47/4 on the front the run down to Stranraer must have been quite lively. The Sealink-liveried coaches were withdrawn during 1987 but all the BSKs found homes in preservation No. SC35070 on the East Lancashire Railway No. SC35072 on the Weardale Railway and the subject of this photo No. SC35069 stayed in Scotland and can be found on the Strathspey Railway.
