Sunday 11th May 1986 finds Class 45/0 No. 45038 sitting at the head of a long line of withdrawn locos including at least another 5 Class 45s and 4 Class 25s on a BREL Doncaster Works scrapline siding. Delivered to BR during October 1961 as No. D48 she was renumbered under TOPS as No. 45038 in early 1974 by which time Ledds Holbeck MPD was her home depot. Stored from Tinsley TMD in June 1985, and subsequently spending some time in sidings at Toton, she finally moved to Doncaster Works as seen here. Doncaster Works would not be her final resting place however as the Vic Berry yard at Leicester undertook the scrapping of No. 45038 during December 1986.
