Class 25/2 No. 25189 awaits a new week and it's fate in the scrapping area at BREL Doncaster Works on Sunday 11th May 1986. Built by BR Derby Works as No. D7539 she entered service in March 1965 from Toton MPD. A London Midland Region allocated loco for just over 20 years her only changes were, her livery BR green to Blue, TOPS changed her number to No. 25189 and dual braking which was installed while at Derby Works in early 1979. During those 20 years No. 25189 roamed between London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester area depots before being withdrawn from Crewe DMD during July 1985. A period in store at Crewe followed before being towed across the country to Doncaster Works and scrapped a week or so after this photo was taken in May 1986.
