Traditionally, the late summer Bank Holiday Monday should bring warm sunny weather for the population to enjoy before facing up to the rigours of winter, but in south Wales on 29th August 2011 we had a dry, cool and cloudy day as can be seen in this image taken at Ferryside (between Carmarthen and Llanelli). The train is 1Z66, 16.40 Carmarthen to Dorridge, which is being hauled by ex-BR 8P Pacific No. 71000 'Duke of Gloucester' as far as Bristol Temple Meads where it will be replace by a diesel.
