Class 47/4 No. 47461 'Charles Rennie Mackintosh' at Glasgow Central Station on Monday 24th June 1985 at the head of a Glasgow - Stranraer Harbour boat train formed of Mark 1 coaches in the short lived Sealink livery. In BR large logo blue / yellow livery complete with Inverness MPD Highland Stag emblem on the drivers cabside she looks a little odd with one part of her mini-snowplough missing. New to Gateshead MPD as No. D1581 in May 1964 and renumbered under TOPS at the same time as being ETH fitted during February 1974 No. 47461 remained an Eastern Region loco until transferred to Haymarket MPD Edinburgh in July 1979. A move across Central Scotland to Eastfield MPD Glasgow followed then in October 1984 came her final transfer to Inverness MPD. During November 1990 No. 47461 was involved in a shunting accident at Liverpool Lime Street Station which resulted in serious damage to her No. 2 end cab, the cab nearest to the camera in my photo. Moved to Crewe Works and stored for a while she was condemned in March 1991 and scrapped at CF Booths of Rotherham during December 1993.
