Class 27/0 No. 27051 enters Glasgow Central station on the Tuesday 29th July 1986 with Inspection Saloon No. DM45020 in Regional Railways Scotrail livery. Delivered to BR in June 1962 as Type 2 No. D5395 her first allocation had been to Cricklewood MPD in North London. Transferred to Scotland by 1970 she was air braked, modified with push-pull equipment and renumbered as Class 27/1 No. 27107 in April 1974 for use on Glasgow Queen Street - Edinburgh Waverley services. Subsequently replaced on these duties by Class 47/7s she was renumbered as Class 27/0 No. 27051 in September 1982. One of the last Class 27s to remain in service No. 27051 was eventually withdrawn from Eastfield TMD in July 1987. A long trip south to Vic Berry's yard in Leicester followed but disposal was swift being completed in October 1987.
