1986 Santa Steam Pullmans - this service operated over two weekends before Christmas between Marylebone and High Wycombe using separate locos to handle the out and back journeys. Seen from a bridge over the alignment of the long-closed Maidenhead branch (the original 19th century Wycombe Railway) SR 'King Arthur' Class 4-6-0 No. 777 'Sir Lamiel' departs from Wycombe on the return journey and provides an impressive aerial display as it climbs away on the 1905 GW/GC joint direct route to the line summit near Beaconsfield on Sunday 14th December 1986.
