Rather unpopular with spectators not concerned with the comfort of its passengers, this 'Santa's Steam Special' incorporates an unpowered Electric Train Heating unit in the form of ex-Class 25/3 No. 25314, now classified as Class 97/2 No. 97252 'Ethel 3' in Intercity livery. Train engine is LMS Black Five No. 5305 'Alderman Draper' here seen climbing purposefully towards White House tunnel on the return journey from High Wycombe to Marylebone in December 1987.
